Located on the northeastern coast of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas was born in 1478, just before the New World was discovered. Famous explorers and navigators later used this pretty, palm-shaded town to resupply their fleets for the trans-Atlantic voyage. Visit Christopher Columbus' house in the Vegueta quarter, or the impressive cathedral of Sants Ana.
